Privacy policy

We’re a small team building booking software for small studios. Here’s how we look after the details you share with us, in plain language.

Last updated 6 November 2026

The short version

  • We only ask for what we needYour name, studio, email and what you run, so we can tell you about Booklet.
  • We never sell your detailsWe don’t sell, rent or trade them, and we don’t use them for anyone else’s marketing.
  • You’re in controlAsk us to see, fix or delete your details at any time, and we’ll do it.

Who we are

Booklet is booking software for small creative studios in Australia. In this policy, “Booklet”, “we” and “us” mean the people building it. “You” means anyone who visits this site or joins our waitlist.

We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have any questions, email us at hello@booklet.net.au.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect what you type into the form:

  • Your name
  • Your studio’s name
  • Your email address
  • What you run (holiday programs, term classes, workshops or something else), if you tell us

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you load. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we don’t buy information about you from anyone else.

How we use it

We use your details to:

  • Let you know when Booklet is ready for your studio
  • Invite you to be a founding studio and help you get set up
  • Ask for your feedback while we build, if you’re happy to give it
  • Understand what kinds of studios are interested, so we build the right things

We’ll only email you about Booklet. Every email has a way to stop hearing from us.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell, rent or trade your details, and we don’t share them with other businesses for their marketing.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this site, store the waitlist and send emails. They can only use your details to provide that service to us. Some of them may store data on servers outside Australia, for example in the United States. When that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your details are protected in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a court or regulator.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist details until Booklet is available to you and we’ve been in touch, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If we haven’t heard from you in two years, we’ll delete your details.

Keeping it safe

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access, so only the people who need your details can see them. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever goes wrong that’s likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Show you the details we hold about you
  • Correct anything that’s wrong
  • Remove you from the waitlist and delete your details

Just email hello@booklet.net.au. We’ll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner, and it won’t cost you anything.

Children’s information

The waitlist is for studio owners and staff, so we don’t ask for or knowingly collect information about children here.

When studios start taking bookings with Booklet, parents will share details about their children (such as ages, allergies and emergency contacts) with their studio. We’ll publish a separate policy covering that before bookings open, and we’ll hold it to an even higher standard.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or think we’ve mishandled your details, email hello@booklet.net.au and tell us what happened. We’ll look into it and reply within 30 days.

If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top. If it’s a big change, we’ll email everyone on the waitlist first.
